this is what doggy hell must be like

Poor Schwartz.

I was watching Schwartz on Wednesday night and thought I saw him limping. I asked my son if he noticed it and he confirmed it. We'd just had him to the vet that day and he was given a clean bill of health so I was curious what could have possibly happened to him between his vet visit and us getting him home. The only thing I could think of was I had asked one of the vet techs to trim his nails and that maybe she cut him a little too close and his paw was sore.

By Thursday morning, he was clearly favoring his right hind leg. He was able to walk and run a bit but when standing still, he was lifting it slightly. Fuuuuuck!

After dropping my kids off at school, I took him to the vet and left him there for evaluation. Around 11, I got a call from one of the vets saying that when she pulled on that leg, he was wincing in pain a bit and asked if she could take an X-ray. I gave her the go-ahead and not five minutes later she called me back with the results...

...a metal plate, rod and wires from a broken leg/hip that was probably a result of him being hit by a car when he was younger.

I couldn't believe it!

Certainly explains why he doesn't lift his leg when he pees, which my son noticed right away when we first got him. He can't lift his leg because of the plate! It also explains why when I walk him and he hears a car, he stiffens up and refuses to move until the car passes. That boy is strong!

We're under a cold spell right now and as it goes, Schwartz will probably always be a bit achy in colder weather. As he gets older, he will probably have extreme arthritis from his injury. Even so, he's still perfect to us. Whatever pain he might be feeling right now has not taken away his happiness and playfulness. His personality is really starting to surface. For instance, just this morning when I let him out of his crate to take him outside, he turned around and shut the crate door with his muzzle to let me know he was done with it this morning! I just had to put him back in it after he'd been out for awhile stretching his legs and wreaking havoc in my house. It seems his injury hasn't stopped him from chasing the cats around the house and jumping up and down all over the place. All is quiet for the moment, I think he's passed out from all the early-morning activity. Too bad I can't find sleep at the moment!

This morning, he's off to Camp Green Dog for a weekend of social-butterflying! My son's baseball team is playing a game about an hour or so south of here, we can't bring Schwartz with us and I'm not comfortable leaving him at home, stuck in a crate all day. He needs to be out, exerting his energy and having fun. I bet he'll have a blast!

may the Schwartz be with you

That line from the movie Spaceballs is immediately what I thought of when I saw the name on the sign. For those of you who don't know, the name "Schwartz" is a German/Jewish last name, but here he was with it as his first name. I just smiled but laughed on the inside as no one else around me would have understood the irony of his name - a Jewish girl looking at a "Jewish" dog!

Yup, that's right! We went ahead and adopted Schwartz, a Terrier/Cattle Dog mix. He really is kinda' funny-looking. He has the head and the body from the large Terrier family and the coloring and tail of a Cattle Dog! His face sorta' resembles Shrek but with fur.

Of course never having owned a dog before, I was very apprehensive about getting him, more so after my kids had already fallen in love with him at first sight. I was trying to find every reason in the book not to get him. If you recall, these were the same mixed emotions I went through the last time we were about to adopt. I knew that I couldn't disappoint my kids again, even after the last time when I had valid reasons for not adopting that dog (he was skittish around our cats and I had an allergic reaction). Even when the Humane Society called to tell me that we had been approved to adopt Schwartz, I hid it from my kids when they asked if I'd heard anything. I had even begun thinking up bizarre excuses/lies to give them had I decided not to adopt him.

Then it hit me...I needed to stop being selfish and just do it. Here was a dog that had been neglected by his previous owners and he needed to be loved. For those of you who've been to a shelter, you know how heart-breaking it can be to see all those dogs staring out at you from behind a chain-link fence, especially those who keep getting passed over by prospective adoptees. My kids wanted a dog and here was the perfect dog for us and I knew I would never hear the end of it again if I told them we could get him and then didn't. And I didn't even know how perfect he was 'til I got him home.

Here's how perfect he really is for us...

I wanted an older dog, out of his puppy years, out of the chewing-everything-to-pieces-in-sight years and he's 1.5 years and doesn't chew anything but the toys given to him. He's full of energy and very playful with so much personality but he totally digs his naps (he took a 4 hour one on Sunday afternoon). For someone like myself who doesn't usually sleep well at night and occasionally likes an afternoon nap, especially on weekends I don't have my kids, he's definitely my kind of dog!

He's crate-trained and, for the most part, house-trained. For being neglected and left outside all the time by his previous owners, that's certainly a feat for him.

The cats are hesitant around him and I know they will be for some time but they don't mind him as much as the last dog that was here. This little guy seems eager to get along with everyone!

He doesn't bark a lot. I can't stand dogs who yip and yap at everything that moves. He barks a little when someone comes to the front door and reacts unhappily for a few minutes after we crate him when we have to leave the house, but other than that he's really even-tempered and it's been wonderful!

He burps and farts. He got up in the middle of the night his first night here to get a drink a water and let out a very healthy fart while bent over the water bowl. Just a little while ago, he looked up at me and belched right in my face. Ah yes...he truly fits in well here!

Some downsides...I didn't want to but I had to get a crate. Before getting him, I started working through things in my head - where he'd sleep, which bathroom he'd get a bath in, where his food/water bowls would go, etc.. I seemed to have planned out everything pretty well except for where he'd sleep. Given that he was in a kennel, I really hated the idea of crating him. I figured our upstairs room was roomy enough and he wouldn't mind being alone for bedtime and while we were out. I was mistaken. I was having trouble sleeping because he kept getting into the cats' litter boxes and eaten their solid waste (I know, lovely visual!) and the smacking noise he was making with his mouth was driving me batty! I took him upstairs, shut the door behind me and almost immediately the wailing began. I went in to comfort him and was met with the overwhelming smell of shit. He had gotten so upset, that he took a massive shit on the carpet. Obviously that plan was nixed right away! I spent the rest of the night trying to drown out the smacking noise and scolding him before he had the chance to snack on anymore and on Sunday I had no other choice but to buy a crate. He doesn't mind sleeping in it and will go into it freely but when it comes to leaving the room or house, he's not that pleased. That's just something he'll have to get adjusted to.

I had expected to take him with me in the car as often as possible but we must have the one dog who doesn't like car rides! He gets all stressed out, pants and drools like crazy and visibly gets dizzy and nauseous when looking out the window. Sounds like me when I sit in the backseat, minus the panting and drooling part.

Even though I got Schwartz mostly for the kids, his presence has been a positive life change for me as well. I've incorporated him into my daily workouts. No more procrastinating or finding lame excuses for not exercising. He motivates me because I know I have to walk him. And in just the past few days, I've dropped some weight without even trying!

Because his crate is right under my TV set in my bedroom and he seemed restless with the noise and the light directly in his face, I now turn it off whereas before Schwartz, I kept it on all night because it kept me company, so to speak. I've always known that it was a distraction but what a difference it makes to actually be able to go back to sleep at night after walking him instead of being tempted to find something to watch! Even though the sleep is still a bit sporadic, I do feel a bit more rested and I haven't had a cup of coffee to assist with my waking in several days now! YAY me!

I have also found less interest in being online. I won't be giving up blogging anytime soon and I still have an interest in visiting all of your blogs, but I have little to no interest in participating on that dating site especially when I'm not even looking to be in a relationship right now and where I think nearly everyone I engage in dialog with is a total schmuck! I still log onto the message boards but reading the same recycled posts from old and new members is beyond boring and I have not had any desire to contribute my thoughts...unless I'm certain my words will irritate someone and then it makes it enjoyable! *wink*

So, without further ado, heeeeeeeeere's Schwartz!!

"there's a tooty in my pooty", part deux

Okay...so I know y'all have been waiting for this one and I apologize for not getting it to you sooner but I've been a bit busy here. I just reread all the responses from the other day and I couldn't help but laugh my head off once again! You guys are a fucking trip!

It didn't even occur to me when I published that post, that y'all would be so curious and it would take me to a second part of the story. So here it goes...

I have a mini-van. I do not shove my daughter in my trunk, as Tug asked, leaving her to poke out the back lights to alert motorists that she's a kidnap victim! I lift up the hatch, she crawls in, I lower it and she does her bui'ness. It's actually quite the little set-up and I will try to remember to take a picture of it so you can see for yourselves.

Tug also asked about the tinted windows. The tinted windows are for her privacy. They're very dark and very little can be seen from the outside.

Several of you asked what I do with the "end result" when she's accomplished her task. Well, as you may have guessed, there's not much I can do with it at that time. I certainly can't go dumping it out onto the ground of a parking lot! So it sits there and ferments until we get home and yes, it does give off an unpleasant odor. Luckily, I have a purse-sized container of Lysol so dousing the car with that does help a bit.

But it's really not that bad. No, what's bad is when she just pees in the potty and then I forget to dump the damn thing for days and the car smells like ten decomposing skunks. Shit, I hope y'all had your breakfast before reading this. *wink*

Charlie asked what "snorking" was. Snorking is when you drink and laugh simultaneously and the liquid spurts from your nose. You asked, Charlie!

Yes Dave, I'm aware that men can be total pigs when it comes to a men's bathroom. I cringe every time my son enters one. There have been times where I've been somewhere where the women's bathroom is being cleaned or out-of-service and I'm forced to use the men's room and it's amazing the difference of cleanliness between the two. I feel for you and especially your daughters!

So there you have it...the shit on the tooty.

"there's a tooty in my pooty"

Those infamous words were uttered by my 7-year old daughter this afternoon. It's code for "Mom, I gotta' take a dump!". Yes, my adorable little girl has told me before that she's had to take a dump. Such a class act.

Speaking of dumps, the baseball academy where my son's been taking private coaching lessons is a total dump. Half the ceiling tiles are missing because of leaks and have yet to be replaced. I think today was the first time I've seen all the florescent bulbs working and my son's been taking lessons there since November. I'm not sure if the carpet has ever been vacuumed. And the bathroom...well, it would be cleaner to take a dump behind a dumpster than to take a shit in that shit hole. It's like the Nightmare on Elm Street of bathrooms. Too horrifying to describe.

So what does a mother do when she has a daughter who gets the urge to relieve herself as soon as she steps within crapping distance of a public restroom and there are no other bathrooms available to use? She has a potty stored in the back of her car. Yes, the same potty that both kids were trained on.

My daughter is like the Pavlov's dog of shit - if she goes poop at a certain time of day, chances are her body clock will be set on that time to go to the bathroom every day. Last week, she had to use the potty while my son was taking his lesson, today was the same and almost at the exact time as last week.

I pushed the automatic trunk release, the door went up, my daughter climbed in and I closed the door. The back windows are tinted so no one can see in unless they try hard. I peaked in at one point, and there she was...playing her Gameboy while her cute little butt was plastered to the potty seat. I need to remember to rig a video camera in the trunk for the next time she does her business.

In other news...Charlie over at Hounded has dedicated a very funny post to me. Many of you will not understand the dedication but it refers to the 'likes' I had listed on a past blog. So, for your reading enjoyment...

LIKES: colonics, stalkers, men who are needy and high maintenance, taking in strange homeless men with chemical imbalances and emotional problems, the fine art of S & M, poking dead things with a stick, my O.J. Simpson collector knife set, finding well-manicured fingers in my chili, wearing my tiara to take out the trash, talking to my invisible friend, older men who have more wrinkles than a Sharpei, bestiality, "snorking", writing for Penthouse Forum, Mullets, tandem toilet use and mutual wiping, cleaning the house in my old Vegas showgirl costumes, pole dancing, scuzzy redneck men who have gunracks in their pickup trucks (that's HOT!), attending Star Trek conventions and studying crop circle formations.

And there you have it. That little blurb above inspired him. I'm a muse. Who knew?!

terica lamoste

Who you ask? Fuck if I know.

Yesterday morning, some fucking little brats decided to crank call me, saying "Hola!" when they called. After the second time saying it, I hung up on them. Their name and number registered on my Caller ID.

I was going to call them back and threaten whomever's house it is, that I would hunt down the child who called me should it happen again but then I thought I might get into a hint of trouble by threatening bodily harm to someone's child so instead, I just thought I'd post their personal information here. Yep, this is what happens when someone fucks with me. I fuck back. And hard. Heh.

I decided to look this person up in the white pages only something strange happened. I couldn't locate this person in any of the white pages I have in my area or surrounding areas. I even did a search in my neighborhood directory and my kids' school directory. I did an online search with no luck. I even did a business search with the same result. If this person were unlisted and/or unpublished, their name and number wouldn't have shown up on my Caller ID yet this person seems to be a ghost. I finally did a reverse phone search and the most I could find out without having to pay some ridiculous fee was that the number the brat called from is a residence and it is in my area.

So feel free to contact Terica Lamoste at (912) 236-1328 and make sure you tell him/her/it "Hola!" from me. Just make sure you use *70 to block your number from showing up on their Caller ID!

post-valentine news

Y'all convinced me to make some Valentine's candies, even if it is too late this year to show them to those we can't stand the most.

In other news, I just had to share with you the hunky babes that viewed my profile yesterday on that dating site. I must be the luckiest gal this side of the Mississippi.

The best part of the day came at dinner when I made lamb chops, my kids' special request for their Valentine's Day dinner. If you've never seen someone literally suck a bone dry, and I'm not talking blow jobs here, you should watch my daughter eat a lamb chop rib. I wish she'd put that kind of enthusiasm into her school work! Between the Valentine's Day activities, the numerous pieces of chocolate and other sweets she munched on throughout the day, she stopped at three but I'm certain had she been hungrier, her inhalation of the lamb chops would have gone well into the night. I have never eaten a meal where I didn't hear my daughter speak the entire time. It was truly a sight to behold. And since there are leftovers, I expect there will be a repeat today.

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day...even if you didn't get those crotchless panties you had your heart set on or if your date took you through the Mickey D's drive-thru instead of that new fancy French restaurant you recently heard about.

*wink*

i've been so neglectful

Usually by this date, I would have bitched endlessly about my disgust for Valentine's Day. This time last year, I had worked up to this day having written several posts about how over-commercialized Valentine's Day is and how I don't need a designated day to show my love for anyone. And it's not because of my single status, I've always felt this way. Last year, I even created some new candy hearts for that special someone. This year, I've been so damn busy and lately, not feeling so great due to cold germs that my kids have generously shared with me, that I've been neglectful of my duties.

So this is what you get this year...And this...a repeat from last year of the candy hearts I designed myself...

For those of you who believe that today has magical potential, I do wish you all the best that the day has to offer...like something better than those "Journey" pendants that all the jewelry stores are offering at discounted prices or wilted flowers. Heh.

other people's children, part 2

Some of the kids in my daughter's class make me wanna' puke.

As discussed before, I am a room mom for my daughter's second grade class. Yesterday, I was in charge of the Georgia Day events for her class. Hold on...I'm getting nauseous just thinking about this....

Maybe I should just say, no wonder my daughter is recovering from the second cold in the past month. Several weeks ago, she had a cold that lingered for about 2 weeks, she finally got rid of it only to get the same cold a week later. She gave it to my son and one of them gave it to me. After what I saw yesterday, I'm not surprised at how bad a cold this is.

At the same time my daughter got her first cold, her desk had just been moved because she had been chatting it up too much with a friend of hers. This little friend of hers is very sweet but she gets into trouble because of how much she talks and I didn't want my daughter getting into trouble with her so I asked her teacher to move her desk.

She was moved across from this girl who obviously was never taught hygiene by her parents and therefore isn't the least bit phased by her teacher telling her to cover her mouth when she coughs. To say that she was excessively coughing yesterday would be an understatement. She probably has fucking TB. At one point, she turned her head to the side to cough and kacked guam all over the little girl next to her who literally wiped her cheek off with her hand. *gack*

Then there was another little girl who was gazupping 'til the cows came home and kept wiping her nose with the back of her sleeve. Um, hello?! Tissue anyone?!?!??

I'm tempted to ask her teacher why she doesn't call the child's parents when their kid exhibits such nasty symptoms. I realize that it's not possible to keep a child out of school for every little illness, but doesn't a teacher try to reinforce with the parents the importance of covering one's mouth so as not to cough viral spew-dom all over another person?!

I just wrote my daughter's teacher an Email regarding my concerns. She's very good about responding to Emails so I'm certain I'll hear back from her. I'll let you know what happens.

In the mean time, I've got mega-amounts of snot and I need to blow my nose. Just thought you'd like to know.

other people's children

Awhile ago on another blog, I mentioned how I'm very intolerant of other people's children. After last night, I've discovered it's only a certain kind of child.

My son was across the street all day yesterday at the neighbor's house to play with their three boys. My kids know better than to simply just invite kids over without first asking my permission, mainly because I want to make sure that my house is picked up and not a total eyesore which is how my house tends to look after a hectic week. It's also because I don't want to be caught off-guard like if I'm in my wears, naked or ya' know, if I'm in the middle of shooting up. Lord knows, I sure need some hard drugs after last night but I'll get to that in a minute.

So what do you think my son did? He called me around 3:30 yesterday afternoon and asked if one of the boys could sleep over. Not just come over, sleep over. Which boy? The one I can't stand the most, the youngest one.

His mother had already approved of it as long as it was okay with me. Well, it wasn't okay with me because I don't like being put on the spot like that but this mother has always been good to my kids, sometimes feeding them lunch there on the weekends, so I had to reciprocate.

Then, as my son was coming home, he was bringing another brother with him. Simply invited him over for dinner. Yep, without asking me first. Know what I hate worse than someone being invited over without my first knowing about it? Someone who doesn't listen.

I don't know about you, I run a tight ship. In my house we sit and eat while at the kitchen table. We don't eat standing up or seated sideways in the chair just so they can see what's on the flippin' TV. We don't get up in the middle of a meal just to pet one of the cats either. We also don't get up when we're done without first asking to be excused and we don't leave our dishes there waiting for someone else to take them to the sink. And if I tell you to wash your hands, sit straight or bring your dishes to the sink, you better damn well do it. That doesn't mean you look at me cross-eyed and plop yourself down in front of the tube, leaving your dishes at the table and your nasty hands full of pizza sauce.

Several years ago, I was inside their house and their mother was showing me something. She took me to her eldest son's room, opened the door and Holy Shit Storm, the place was worse than a pig sty. It was a pig sty on crack. I asked her if I had slept through a tornado. She laughed it off and added "I don't make the boys clean their rooms.". I'm sorry...what??? When my kids leave a room, they know to pick up around them before doing anything else.

Clearly, these kids have never had to do a damn thing in their whole lives. No picking up after themselves, no turning lights off before leaving a room, nothing. After dinner last night, these boys ran around the house destroying everything they could possibly get their hands on then sat down inches away from the TV and plastered their faces to it. When it was getting time for the eldest boy to go home, I told them that they had to help my son clean up. I walked away and 5 minutes later all I heard was silence. I walked back into the room and the two boys hadn't moved from their spots in front of the TV and my son was cleaning up. I lost track after the tenth time of how many times I said "boys". They were entranced by some stupid cartoon on TV. I have a feeling that that is pretty much how their lives are at their house, that they're so "busy" sitting there doing nothing, oblivious to whatever is going on around them, ie: their mother picking up after them.

Unfortunately, I think their father has contributed to this awful habit of theirs as he comes home from work and plops himself on the sofa. It's bad enough that this mother is always catering to her kids 24/7, her husband does nothing to help her because he's never around on the weekends, always off playing golf somewhere.

I had an idea. I found the TV remote control and turned off the TV. "HEY!" they simultaneously exclaimed! HEY this you little fucking spoiled children! No, I didn't say that but I wanted to. I said:

"I asked you guys to help T. clean up the house 10 minutes ago. Now, I don't know how things are done at your house but at my house, I'm in charge. And at my house, if you make a mess you help clean it up so snap to it." Did they snap to it? You bet your asses they did.

About an hour earlier, the youngest boy's mother called me to find out when I wanted to send the eldest boy home. Then she told me that should the youngest start complaining of a stomach ache, to send him home. That the evening before, he had vomited and she didn't even think that it could be a problem 'til she had spoken to a friend of hers earlier last evening who told her a stomach bug was going around.

I was pissed. She tells me this after this child had just inhaled two huge pieces of pizza. Earlier in the day when I was at my daughter's class, I found out 10 kids were out that day in just her class alone due to some sort of illness, some with a stomach bug. Both my kids have a cough and cold right now. The youngest son, whose air mattress was on the other side of the room last night, decided to push his air mattress right next to my son's at some point during the night and then proceeded to cough and sneeze all over him all night. The eldest son was laying on my son's pillows last night and the youngest had his skanky feet on my son's pillows this morning. Haven't my kids been exposed to enough that they need to deal with inconsiderate kids and an inconsiderate mother too?!

I'm so skeeved out right now, that I'm going to go burn the sheets and disinfect my house. And even then I'm sure remnants of these nasty children will forever remain. Blech.

my apologies

I realize I have not been around lately. I had a real dain bramage kind of week. Grab a cup of something and take a load off, this is a long one.

On Monday evening, I received an Email from one of my son's teachers telling me that he wasn't completing homework assignments and that his test scores were far lower than usual. She told me he wasn't focused and very distracted and was wondering if there was something going on at home.

I sat here with my jaw nearly hitting the floor. I wasn't all that surprised to hear that he was distracted, that's a word that has been mentioned by several of his teachers in previous years. As for his homework assignments, he's been so irresponsible about so much lately, while I was pissed, that wasn't too much of a surprise either. What really had my brain doing flip-slops was hearing about his tests. Um...what fucking tests??!??!?!

I have been asking my son every single fucking day of every single fucking week since we've been back from the holiday vacation what kind of tests he had coming up and I always got the same response..."I don't have any.". He had them alright, he just hadn't been studying for them or telling me about them.

I am always attentive to my children's teachers and immediately responded, telling her that I had no idea all this had been going on, that I had been asking him every single day since we'd returned from the holidays about any tests he may have had and he had been dishonest with me. That whatever I could do to help him pull up his grade, I would do. She thanked me for my support, told me what I could do and I immediately followed through with those items.

Two days later, my son had to give an oral report at school. The minute we were on the highway, he frantically told me he had forgotten his book which he needed to show his class while giving his report. Rrrrrr. Luckily, he didn't have to give his report 'til after lunch so I had no problem getting his book to him on time.

I arrived at school and couldn't remember his locker number so I went into his homeroom to ask his teacher, who is also his science teacher. After a few minutes of him looking and us chatting, he mentioned to me that my son had been unfocused and distracted in his class, even disrupting other students at time. I felt a headache coming on. I couldn't believe this...now two teachers saying the same thing. He asked me not to say anything to my son, that they had already had a man-to-man the day before in which my son promised to buckle down. I told him that his dad and I had been telling our son lately that this was not a time for him to slack off, that if he thought this year was hard, wait 'til next year when he reached middle school, etc.. His science teacher told me that it seemed we were on top of things and he was certain he'd see an improvement in my son's behavior and that all-in-all, he was a great kid. I thanked him for bringing it to my attention and since he couldn't find the locker list, he walked into the classroom of the same teacher who'd Emailed me a few days earlier to see if she knew where it was.

She came out, shook my hand as we had never met and said "Your son didn't do his math homework last night." My head started to throb. I thought I was going to be sick. She took me to his locker and I told her I had checked his dayplanner the night before and asked him at least three times if he had done all his homework and he had assured me that he had. She could tell I was super pissed. She THEN proceeded to tell me that yet another teacher, the guidance counselor, had asked about my son and wanted to know "what was going on with him". Three teachers now. According to the GC, my son was...yep, you guessed it, unfocused and distracted. On top of that, another student had come to her and told her that my son had said some mean things to him! My son, a bully?! FUCK THAT SHIT! I have always told my kids that they didn't have to like everyone but they had to be nice to everyone and that I better not hear of them EVER pushing someone around. And now I was hearing it and I was, to say the least, floored.

At the same time, the teacher who informed me of this told me that the student in question was overly sensitive to just about everything but that still didn't give anyone the right to say mean things to him. As someone who was teased for several different things when I was younger, I know how it feels. A 10/11 year old isn't thick-skinned nor do they know how to just let things roll off their backs. Trust me, I've been there. I've known what it feels like to be disliked.

When I got home that very afternoon, I called the GC but she was out that day. I shot off an Email but she never responded. That night, my son readily admitted to his dad that he had forgotten to do some homework for that day's math class and while I don't know the details, from what it sounded like, his dad ripped him a new one.

It was after speaking to our son, that his dad and I got into a very heated discussion over what was going on. When I told him the part about our son apparently having some words for another student andI told him we should consider meeting with the guidance counselor together, things started getting weird. Hang on folks, this is where the real rant begins!

I explained to him what all the teachers had said about him being unfocused and distracted. He immediately jumped on me and said we should bypass all teacher meetings and take him directly to a doctor, where the doctor could prescribe him some Ritalin! HUH?! I told him our son didn't have ADD, that we heard that directly from his pediatrician when he was younger. He said he knows all these people who's kids were unfocused who put their kids on Ritalin and they're now doing great. I told him that what these people weren't telling him, is that their kids have ADD and that no decent doctor would EVER put someone on ADD medication when the child isn't ADD. I also told him, that I too knew a lot of people with kids who have ADD and what these parents weren't telling him, is they had to go through several medications before finding the right one that didn't cause restlessness, insomnia, etc..

THEN, when I started mention to him that we should consider meeting with this teacher together, he stared saying shit like "you can do this" and "I can do that" but never saying that we should work on resolving whatever was going on with our son together. I questioned him about this and do you know what he said? "I will never be in the same room with you because we can't get along."

Out of everything that I had heard that day, that was the one thing that stunned me the most. How many divorced couples do we all know that despite their feelings for each other, can still manage to come together and work as a team to resolve their child's issues? I don't know about you, but I know many. Not only that, but as far as I can recall, we hadn't had a major argument about anything since last summer. And, as far as I knew, we have always been very civil to one another.

In a nutshell, I basically told him that I had no idea where that was coming from and told him to grow up before hanging up on him. That was the last time I've spoken to him and, as far as I'm concerned, that was the last time I will ever speak to him on the phone again for as long as I live. I am so tired of his continued animosity towards me. We have been divorced for 5+ years and it seems so obvious to me that he still harbors some very ill feelings for me. I cannot help that but I also don't have to tolerate it nor the way he thinks he can speak to me. I realize that I used to mention a lot of angry feelings I had about him on one of my past blogs, but I've gotten past all that and really feel very little for him...other than my feeling very sorry for him that he cannot get past hating me.

I let myself cool down and wrote him an Email saying that from now on, he is to contact my kids directly through my son's cell phone. I told him that from now on, the only way we'd communicate is through Email. I also told him that I would no longer keep him informed of what was going on with my son and that if he had an interest, he could contact our son's teachers directly to find out what was going on.

As a full-time mom and primary caregiver for the past 10+ years, I have done whatever I've had to to make sure my kids have been raised properly. I take them wherever they need to go, whatever the activity is. I take them to all their doctors' appointments. I do everything. But I'll be damned if their dad continues to treat me like his fucking secretary, expecting me to report back on everything when he should be having an equally active role which he doesn't. He has never taken them to get their hair cut, he has never taken them to their doctors' appointments and I can count on one hand how many times he's taken them to their after-school sports activities.

Stick a fork in me, I'm fucking done with this bullshit.

I had to be at school on Thursday as I was helping my daughter's class get ready for an activity I'm in charge of and stopped by the GC's office. She could only spend a few minutes with me as the entire school was about to have a lockdown drill but the meeting was informative.

She agreed with the other teachers that my son is a lovely boy but that he was acting up a bit in her guidance classes. She downplayed things by adding that he was not the only boy acting this way, that hormones were starting to set in and it was this whole pecking order thing kicking into high gear. Peer pressure and other bullshit. She also said that the student who complained had also complained about other people, not just my son. I wish my son's other teacher had mentioned that to me because while I don't like hearing that my son is involved in something like that, I also don't like him being singled out for something other children are also doing.

I also specifically asked her if she thought that his recent behavior could be medically-related? I didn't mention ADD but she knew what I was referring to. She didn't seem to think so and said we'd cross that bridge if and when we had to. She really thinks that it has more to do with hormones than anything else. Meeting with her really put my mind at ease and with all the teachers, I asked her to please keep me informed.

That night, he called my phone to speak to the kids and left a message! Honestly, I couldn't believe how disrespectful he was being to my one simple request and then I thought back to the many other times he'd been disrespectful to me so it really didn't shock me. Luckily, the kids and I were having dinner at the time of his call, my phone was in another room and I didn't hear it ringing. I asked my son to call him back from his phone which he and my daughter did.

But then last night, he called my phone again and left another message! When I didn't answer, he called my house phone! I had my son answer the house phone and told them to hang up at the end of their conversation so he wouldn't think I was interested in speaking with him.

To date, I still have not listened to the messages he left me and I have no intention of doing so. I did, however, send him another Email this morning that he needed to respect my wishes of him calling our son's cell phone to speak with the kids instead of my phone and that if he had anything to say to me, it could be done through Email.

Knowing him, he'll probably continue to be disrespectful and just do whatever he wants. No huge surprise there.

i blame mom

Enough with staring at that penis.

Ya' know what really creeps me out worse than actor Crispin Glover? The movie Wolf Creek.

There aren't many horror flicks that will really freak me out. I tend to laugh at them when most people will cringe and hide their eyes because they're that stupid. The movies not the people. Well, maybe the people are stupid, who knows?! I mean there's something seriously wrong with someone who doesn't like horror flicks!

Anyway, growing up, I'd watch B-movie horror flicks in which I'd ask my parents if I could watch one more murder before bedtime. They must have thought they were raising a serial killer. I may be psycho from time-to-time but I think I turned out pretty well...other than the occasional thrill kill, of course. Heh.

Anyway, it was months ago when I was discussing on my last blog about horror movies and Atilla the Mom mentioned Wolf Creek as one movie that really freaked her out. I suppose I went into watching the movie today with that idea already planted in my mind so it's really her fault that I spazzed out while watching it. Well that and movies that always claim that they're based on actual events. Those fuckers.

For those who want to know the real story, here it is.
